It is unlikely that anyone will be looking for a dev that has just started learning Java since to make plugins you need decent advanced knowledge. I recommend you learn how to configure basic plugins for servers and maybe have a look at the source code to some plugins and see if you can figure out how they work. It might allow you to learn quicker.

You should try reading the wiki pages for the individual plugins. These usually give step-by-step guides on how to set up and configure the plugin. They are a good place to start if you are unsure of what to do. :D

You should try using the online editor. (/lp editor). This gives a much easier to understand interface and makes it a lot faster to add many permissions. I would highly recommend it over in-game commands.
