Once I went to a cheescake factory, and after waiting an hour, I finally got seated. After about another hour of waiting, our waiter decided to finally show up. I didn't really care I was enjoying the night and we were just talking. Another 20 minutes after ordering our food, the waiter comes back and tells me that they were out of the dish my girlfriend ordered. She ordered another dish, and the waiter rushed off. About another 10 minutes later, the waiter comes back telling us that the other dish she ordered is also unavailable. So we ordered a third dish for her each time, he reassured us that he would take it off the bill. We ordered 2 appetizers, and after such a long time, we finally bugged the waiter about this. Being completely polite and apologetic, he assured us that he would take it off the bill. By this point we were kind of joking and getting somewhat pissed off at our waiter. After a total of 3 hours, our meals finally arrived, each meal was missing bits and pieces to it. When we informed the waiter of this, he once again assured us he'd take it off the bill. After enjoying the delicious meal, we asked for the bill. After waiting for a ridiculous amount of time, the bill came and of course, all the food we had ordered for the night was on there. All the food that was going to be "taken off the bill" Still remained there for me to pay. At this point pissed off, I asked the waiter why everything was still on the bill, and his response could not have been more angering. His response was this, "Yes I know, you can just subtract it from my tip." The most outrageous part, was that after waiting forever and putting up with possibly the worst service if my life, this man assumed he was still getting a tip from me.
