yoo i literally havent been on this site for 5 months and it feels weird lol but i do got some things to say
well i have mc on the switch and i have no choice but to get skins from skin packs. and from those skin packs, i came across one by a company (im not sure if i could say their name since i haven't privately dmed them about the situation yet) that have some of my recent skins on the pack and it costs about 350 minecoins (in the past, i have been dmed by the same company asking if they can pay me to make skins for them. i didnt reply bc i dont fully trust dms like that, but i never gave them permission to use my skins for profit) and seeing that kind of broke my heart.
i just thought it was unfortunate and unfair. im sure it has something do with pmc's guidelines, rules, etc. and thats why the skin pack isnt taken down along with many other skin packs that featured skins from creators on this website (im not saying that the skin creators on pmc didnt give the company permission to use their skins to sell on the marketplace, but based on the way they handled my situation im assuming they didnt).
i just wanted to share since i do want to start making skins again anytime soon and maybe accept commissions from legit and trustworthy companies on the mc marketplace. ty for reading! :)) <3

Yeah, I heard about Microsoft not really caring about stolen skins on the marketplace which is very unfortunate. I haven't tried anything to fix the situation, I only made this post to inform and see who could relate to my situation. It's sad that people our making profit from our own work.

People have done that with copy pasted edited parts of my skins too. Likely at least 10 + packs have my work in them without my permission. Reported it to Microsoft and absolutely nothing has been done. Extremely discouraging.

I'd report them to Microsoft or something. Our guidelines let you keep the copyright for your content, we don't own them or re-sell them.

Skins on the marketplace aren't allowed to be posted anywhere else, they've broken a lot of rules there.

I think it's best if you message support or something, because it's honestly terrible that they would do such a thing

and bc its a new year, i have a rant for you all/im gonna spill tea
(not calling anyone out specifically, just something that i am annoyed/confused about)

rant on reported fanskins/skin trades:
ive been noticing these skins, being titled as fanskins or skin trades be reported/taken down from looking too similar to the original. st/fs are NOOTT something for you to literally copy by every pixel/colors/shading. using the same color palettes on the original will already put your skin in risk of being reported for looking similar to the orig. honest truth is that many 'teen' skinners don't really have that much different shading styles, and using the same colors can tend to make both skins looking very similar.

whats even more mind boggling(lmao ew 'mind boggling') that these skinners make a wall post regarding their skin being reported/deleted. i think the normal person can detect why it was, because sometimes it literally looks like the same thing!!! idk if theyre acting oblivious but if theyre not, then i dont even know, just something that really strikes me.

end of story, if your recreating a skin, it doesnt hurt to change the design a bit, and please dont use the same color palettes, you are better than that.
