You can easily use damaging/harming potions. That's what I usually do on sight of them if I have a few to spare, and if I use the wrong stone block in Creative, I just pull the best-working hurt potion up and start attacking It's efficient and it doesn't create more of them.

My friend runs on a Mac and had the same problem. He said that he fixed it by deleting/moving the Technic Launcher to the Trash and re-downloading it. It works fine since then and we play Tekkit all the time together. I did the same thing and I run on PC, and it works just fine now!

The only vanilla singleplayer commands are the ones from the Cheats feature. Servers are run differently than the vanilla singleplayer commands. Servers can use "stop", anything that comes with plugins, Bukkit commands, Essentials, etc. Players on your server and other things like that which Sed mentioned most definitely caused those weird commands (if you didn't make them up, lol).

I know I'm going to get a whole lot of hate for posting this, but Herobrine isn't real. My friend and I went through the client and found no class/folder involving Herobrine. Also, if Herobrine were to be a real mob, his skin would be in the mob folder of the client. Servers run according to the vanilla client, too. Also, there is no way that a mob in a game could have hacked into your server terminal and forced it to say commands at will.

Also, what sed11 said. There are several glitches that could have caused the command, too.

If you have access to the terminal, world files, etc. then I can help you. I've never bought a hosted server before, but I do know how to add plugins.

To install Bukkit plugins, there is a very easy tutorial on the Wiki located here: http://wiki.bukkit.org/Installing_Plugins

Better safe than sorry, like I said It's better not to risk it. Many people have been hacked before, whether it be from Minecraft servers or not, and it can be very tragic if you aren't careful. Also, it's illegal (pretty sure, correct me if I'm wrong) to sell one's IP address.

There are some good video recorders around the internet, such as Fraps (the best you can get for around $35, one payment), Camtasia Studios (comes with a professional and easy-to-use editor for about $300), and others. These usually take up a whole lot of space on computers and if you don't have a great laptop, they won't work very well.

There are simple ones if you have a bad computer, such as Bandicam (free, but with a logo at the top) and CamStudio (also free and has no logo, but not high-quality; Bandicam is better).

If none of these options work for you, you might have to get someone else to record for you (I will willingly, I'd just like to have some credit if it's uploaded anywhere on PMC or YouTube) or get a better computer. Hope this helped!

Hello, DrReconcile! I know how you feel in this situation. I asked my dad to help me set up my own Minecraft server with port forwarding and the like since he works with computers on a daily basis (he pursues a career as a programmer). He made me promise to only whitelist and not to give the server IP to anyone I didn't know in real life because it could (apparently) cause potential security problems.

From the server address, people can find the port opening you had made and access your computer, network, etc. from there. They can place viruses in your computer, copy/delete all of your files, delete your System32 folder (which breaks the computer completely!), or even find out where you live and track you down from your computer's IP!

Fortunately, I know of no one who has had this problem yet, but it's better to be safe than sorry. Port forwarding is a great hazard to both your security and your computer, so I'd recommend setting up a Hamachi server (up to 5 slots) if you want a small, compact server for a little group of friends. If you want any bigger and don't want the hassle, you can buy a server from Minecraft server hosts all around the internet. The cost could be from $5 to $100 every month, depending on what your server runs on.

If you just want to play multiplayer without going through all the complicated steps of setting up your own server, just head to the Server section of PMC or http://minecraft-server-list.com/. Both are great resources if you want to have fun, but watch out for griefers and abusive mods!

Hello, FlyingBananasaur (or Banana, whatever you want to be called)! Welcome to Planet Minecraft, one of (in my opinion) the best Minecraft fan sites that exist to this day! I like bulleted lists, too, and especially numbered ones...we should be friends!

Only joking, but I do hope you have a good time here on PMC! I've been a member since last year and have been active ever since. Here, you find the remains of the everlasting legend Doku and his famous texture pack, DokuCraft, inspirational blog posts that can blow your mind, and creepy Herobrine stories told around a digital campfire. Hours you can spend on servers daily: 2-6 hours a day
Past Operator/Moderator/Admin experience: I've been an op on about 3 servers, a mod on 4 and an admin on 2.
Plugin Knowledge: Essentials, Factions, WorldEdit, WorldGuard, GroupManager, MyWorlds, LWC, NoCheatPlus, MinecraftRKitPlugin, and some others. I can install pretty much all of these, but GroupManager is a trouble to figure out.
Other Information you would like to share: I love Harry Potter! I grew up with it, pretty much, and have read all of the books countless times. I'd love to be part of the server if I could! I'm tremendously dedicated to the Harry Potter fandom, have watched all of the movies, etc.
Do you have skype (username): I do, but since I'm only 12 years old, I'm not very comfortable sharing it with people I don't know in real life due to privacy and security reasons.

Okay, that wasn't necessary.

I don't have access to my router, so I needed my parents to log in for me, considering I don't want to hack into my own system (and, obviously, I don't know how). It was also my first time port-forwarding and I didn't want to screw up my own internet, so I wanted my dad to do it (he works with computers every day and knew how to do exactly what I was trying to do). And excuse me for not being of age or something and having own router and all of that stuff if you're rolling your eyes right now. But my parents didn't want strangers getting into our system or something because that's a huge security risk, if you didn't know that, and since they're my parents I just went with it and they told me to whitelist it. I hope you understand.

***Attention to all who have contacted me about the map!!!!***

Unfortunately, I can't set up the server and let others on. It risks my security at home and people would be able to track me down. I'm not risking that and my parents have told me to only whitelist my friends IRL, so I'm sorry to inform all of you that I will no longer need a spawn built for me. If you already started/finished, if I ever make a legitimate server without whitelist, THAT SPAWN WILL BE USED! Sorry!
