In case any of you weirdos care. I'm thinking about making a texture pack that reskins the minecraft bow to appear like the cabal slug launcher to go with my loyalist colossus skin.

Current skin work, requests, and future skins

Thought I'd give an update. I am currently working on an insect skin, but have decided sea creatures are my primary interest. I have plans to complete a Bluefin Tuna skin as well as taking on the Ocean Sunfish, but first I have a couple skin requests for friends I need to finish.

If you have any cool or unique fish and sea creatures to share for skins down the road, please share.

In light of my recent skin, I wanted to post the progression I went through for just the face, which is the part I'm most proud of.

Edit: I had typed up a huge thing with notes on imgur, I accidentally clicked "post to community". I don't have an account, clicked back, and it's gone. Regrettably, I'll just dump the images in because I spent like half an hour making it and I don't want to again.

Here's the link. The first and last images are my original prototypes.. compare them to my final product!!

Notes: I only have the head screenshots really because I stopped documenting my progress after that. I've learned about stuff like hue shifting, rudimentary shading, and a bit of color theory from all this, which makes me very happy. I also don't have a screenshot of the final face.

If I could change anything about my skin, I'd change the lips so that they were darker along a consistent line with the lower part of the shading and the lower half of the mouth. I think it creates a cool effect kind of like a water line.

Edit: Didn't realize you could reup skins. Made the change.

I spent like two weeks doing the face, and about three days on the body, most of which I did past midnight. So I don't remember much of the process. I just kind of applied what I learned from the face.

A lot of the skin was actually redone. Just off the top of my head, I can think of several things. I redid the face more times than I can count as you'll see, I redid the arms twice from scratch, redid the shading on the torso, redid EVERY SINGLE COLOR on the face and arms before I started the body...

I am by no means an expert! This skin as I said is just the result of trial and error. I'm proud of how it turned out, but I think I definitely struggled with shading and the next skin I make, which isn't scaly, will be a whole lot harder for me. Still, this is proof! You can do anything!
