I highly suggest this page for information over commands, usage, etc. This should cover every single vanilla Minecraft command as well as placeholders and more.

If vanilla servers are your thing, you're welcome to check out Green Raids. Green Raids is a fairly small but growing strong vanilla snapshot server with lots of cool features. Griefing and raiding is allowed, the rules are fairly laid back. I have several years total running my own Minecraft servers, however this server is only the second I have ever owned.

Unlike a lot of servers, I don't ask for money at all. All players are equal, the only thing that will give anyone an advantage is how much work and effort they put in themselves. With that being said, there are many oncoming features that I believe many will find enjoyable. I will soon be introducing an mcMMO-like system which is based on a player's experience level. The higher experience a player has, the more powerful they are, with the maximum level being 99.

A fix that comes to my mind right away would be setting blocks in the area you want the creeper to explode on a loop so that it replaces the block if it is destroyed, and if you want to be really technical you could tag the items in that area and destroy them as well.

Then, set up another command block that will set the creeper's fuse time very high and its explosion radius to zero if it's outside the area you want it to explode. And when it comes inside the area you want it to explode, change its fuse time and explosion radius back to normal.

Or, you could probably find a way to tag the creepers when they are in the radius of the area you want them to explode, and as soon as they blow up you could remove the specific blocks via command blocks that activate afterward.

I know I'm not offering you any actual commands to accomplish this or anything, it would be somewhat complicated to pull off. But I'm just brainstorming. Hopefully it helped.

A data tag is just a tiny piece of information to describe a certain characteristic of an entity. You can see all data tags an entity has by standing next to it and running this command: "/entitydata @e[r=2] {}" which will list all data of any entity within two blocks. You can also add/edit data tags by doing "/entitydata @e[r=2] {data tag}" and of course, the placeholder can be changed to your liking in either situation.

@e[r=2,type=Chicken] will target all chickens within two blocks.
@e[rm=2,type=Chicken] will target all chickens greater than two blocks from you.

These are only two examples of placeholders. There are practically infinite combinations you can use, with anything from scoreboard scores to radius to health. But I'm starting to get off track. Hope that answered your question.

Offer still stands. The very few amount of people who applied at this point have been denied because I didn't find them suitable.

I really don't know how much more I could possibly offer someone. I'm basically looking for a person who simply knows what they're doing in terms of vanilla Minecraft, managing the server, etc. And they will have an entire server to be in charge of without even having to pay for it. Isn't that what everybody wants these days?

I have a long-term server of my own as well as a lot of experience running servers. However these days, especially in the near future, I will not have nearly as much time to run it as I would like. This will not at all affect the server's uptime. The server is vanilla 1.9 snapshot and will be staying vanilla even after 1.9 is released. The server is here to stay so you should be too. Feel free to private message me on here if you are interested.

Note: I've not yet officially released the server but I'm getting very close.

Hey Que5t, I own a somewhat new server which is currently 1.9 snapshot and will be staying vanilla after 1.9 is released. I'm pretty experienced with command blocks, scoreboards, and other vanilla features and I would prefer someone who is up to date with it as well but you don't need to be a genius over it or anything. I can teach a little if need be, too.

I'm 20 years old, I have the money to keep the server running, and I have several years of experience running my own Minecraft servers. That being said, the server I have now is only the second server I have ever ran. The only problem is I need someone I can trust to run the server when I am away and unable to manage it myself, which will happen from time to time.

The server has plenty of RAM, a website, a nice domain so you don't need to remember numbers, and a voice server. I'm still setting up some features and some areas of spawn are still being built but it's playable at this point. I'll be adding a command block-powered system similar to mcMMO to the server soon, and apart from that there is already a variety of cool features with more coming every day.

If you are interested, all I would ask is that you fill out an application so I can get to know a bit more about you. This can be done on the website, just go to "apply" at http://www.GreenRaids.com

"I'm on, and being spammed with books.."

I got that fixed, by the way. A placeholder was off by one letter which broke the entire system and made it spam everyone besides me with the books. The placeholder was @a instead of @p. What I need is somebody who knows this kind of stuff, but this seems to be harder than I thought. The only good thing is before I leave I should have everything set up, so I guess it's not completely necessary for someone to know everything, but it would definitely help.

Another thing, in case you were wondering, the books do that so players will always have easy access to the commands. They also refresh on relog/update/when dropped, so all players always have the very latest book I released.

Save the essentials config locally on your computer, save it with UTF-8 encoding enabled through notepad, add the character, save the file, re-upload it to your server files.

You can join at play.GreenRaids.com - there are a few issues which may cause it to crash that I am currently getting sorted out, so be warned of that. Something is causing the server to overload randomly but my host is looking into it.
