Im trying to make a texture pack where quartz armor trims go through an rgb armor trim animation. To do this I am using a vannila texture pack to animate the quartz armor palette to scroll through a rainbow. When i put this in the game any quartz trimed armor turns into a mess of black and pink. Why is this? How is this? And am i trying to do something impossible?

I'm not very learned in armor trims, but a thorough guide can be found here. Looking at that, it seems your problem is in the assets/minecraft/atlases/armor_trims.json file. It seems that Minecraft can't find the base textures for the trim, whether because you haven't specified them or because of a reference problem. Refer to that guide for an example of how the file should look.

I have checked carefully and everything seems to be correct. Everything to the file names and the mcmeta file is correct. I havn't done anything with the trim_palette file in the color palettes folder for the armor trims. I think whats happening is that the game is ignoring the mcmeta file and trying use a file thats in the wrong aspect ration to get the color palette and failing.

I assume you're using an animated texture for this. In that case, Minecraft cannot find said texture, so it uses a fallback. Examine your file paths and make sure they're accurate; try moving the texture to different locations (e.g. at the root of textures/item) if they seem correct.

To be honest with the minecraft community in termoil over the game-wide bans I kind-of hope minecraft dies. Idk I feel like it would kind of shine a light on what happened to me during migration but in a different context except this is just bullshit. This is discord levels of moderation possibly lower. The game seems heavily fucked and this will be the death of minecraft. I hope the game goes open-source but this is impossible because of microsoft.

I have now found the effects of using the jar launcher to use mojang accounts after march 10th. It works like a normal minecraft account except you cannot join multiplayer servers that aren't worlds that are open to lan. I might have a plan to migrate it, but it might not work.

The end is near.

Due to the migration I will not be able to play minecraft after march 10th because I can't migrate, but I have a plan.

I have something not many have, something that may be nostalgic to some, the OG minecraft launcher in all of it's .jar glory.

My plan is to use it to log into my minecraft account after march 10th and play the game. I know for a fact the account will not be deleted after march 10th due to the implication on minecraft's website that you can migrate after march 10th and the jar launcher will not be updated to support microsoft accounts. So it may be the case that I can use it to log into the account and play the game.

Here are my takes on minecon live.

I belive the mob vote was ok, I would have prefered the copper golem but the allay is good.

Caves and Cliffs part 2: Nothing much to comment on here other than development is going well.

The wild update: This is something the overworld has needed for ages, and it is wonderful to see the return of the mangrove forests from the vote they were in, maybe we could see the savhana vote biome return as well, and im convinced they are attempting to turn anything challenging in minecraft into a horror game.

Development on the squid game armor pack has halted due to reasons, progress will likely resume in 1 or 2 weeks time, it will still be finished, so dont worry, this isnt a sign im halting production of my packs entierly, for now I will just post takes on minecraft news.
