How did Age of Aincrad die? I'm a developer for the game and I can assure you, we aren't dead. (Btw, we aren't American, the team consists of volunteers worldwide but we chose the United Kingdom.)

There are many other SAO MMO projects out there, you can search on IndieDB.

Public release should be quite soon, please don't expect something like a finished product, this release is the first public pre-alpha release.

We ask of you to join our forums (once we've done some maintenance) and provide constructive feedback and criticism as this game is to be made and developed from the community base.

We want you guys to make a 3D Pokemon MMORPG game that Nintendo/GameFreak could not accomplish.

KernelPadIt's available for Windows PC and Mac OS.

    No love for Linux? ;c

The game will work for Windows, Mac and Linux, however there is a catch. Windows will have an patch updater but for Mac and Linux...

We have hopes on a developer to create a Linux patch updater however we can't promise it. As of now, there is no developer that uses a Mac in our team hence, no patch updater for Mac.

If you have the guts to manually patch the game, we might have to setup a tutorial.

We have a Dev Team name change to Flying Pig Games, as we aren't sure if Planet Pokemon will be the only and final game we create.

Thank you! I was confused on how to resize it, haha.

    SloPro11wait aren't you a developer for another 3d mmorpg?
This sounds cool, I'll check it out.

Glad you have sharp eyes, yes I'm working on two MMORPGs now.

    KJ_BuildingTeamWell, sure Nintendo allows this?

We are not taking any profit of any sort, so I believe it's fine.

    Might I add that:

If you guys aren't following up with our Facebook and Twitter, here are the latest images of the UI:

(If you didn't know, these are animation placeholders, the reason for the images are to show you how the person looks when they open the UI)

A video of it is coming soon. I believe you can make out what they are trying to view but can't read every button since its too small.

The positions are not paid due to the fact we don't have any funding to pay anyone. The developers have discussed it and have decided that you will be paid but at a later date.

We want people to be committed to their work, it will be harder to manage to see people go and leave too soon.

Sorry for the inactivity on this thread, been busy.

Half of these are terrible, I'd go with what Randomness or WTFshady suggested, by far the better pre-builds in this thread.

    -
Build It Yourself: The cheapest way to get the best build for your money, buy parts from online, stick them together like Lego and you'll have your perfect PC in no time. You'll be happy, more satisfied and it will be more ideal to spend your saved up money elsewhere like an SSD or better peripherals. It can be quite a hassle and a hair scratching moment, but the outcome is rewarding.

Pre-Built (Custom): If you're in between, and you %100 know you are never going to build it yourself for whatever reason, this is the best option for you. You'll be paying atleast $100+ more for this than building it yourself since the standard companies like Gladiator, Cyberpower, or a custom retailer need their profits too.

Manufactured: This option is highly UNrecommended, you're paying the money because of the logo/company, not its components (mainly). Companies like HP, Dell (Alienware), Toshiba and others charge you too much for what could be more affordable when building it yourself or prebuilt.

    No, sorry.

BLESS_YO_FACEWhat are some things that people could help you with and where would the go to apply for said task?

(ie. Donating, Helping with code, Writing)

Thank you for taking an interest! You can apply to one or more positions here: http://age-of-aincrad.com/application

We are taking an interest in Programmers, Concept Artists, Writers, 3D Modelers and Animators! In addition to those who don't have the desired skill, we have opened Community Streaming, so you can come on in and stream yourself playing games and having a good time with the community!

You can find out all about the requirements for these positions once you've selected it on the website given.

KnightIf you're still in the extremely early-development part of the process, is the team open to suggestions and ideas regarding how the game might work?

Additionally, I was curious how you guys are planning on making the leveling and loot systems.

The team is always open for suggestions from the community! It's easier and best for everyone to sign up on our forums to provide discussions and suggestions for the game. Here is the suggestions area: http://age-of-aincrad.com/forum/forums/suggestions.35/

You can also use the Search Feature provided to look for any information that may already have been discussed. Don't forget our wikipedia that has most of the mechanics written for you guys! http://age-of-aincrad.gamepedia.com/Age_of_Aincrad_Wiki

We are making this game as close to SAO as possible. It won't be possible without you guys!

It was Unity before we changed to the Unreal Engine 4. (Yes, the video is Unity gameplay) In addition, this is a fan-made project, with people across the world that have joined up to create this game. We aren't professional (some are qualified) but we can get the job done.

    Death Penalties
There are two kinds of death penalties in Age of Aincrad depending on which server-type a player resides in. The current two server types are:

    Hardcore Server
    Casual Server

    Casual server death penalty:
When a character dies on a casual server, all the items and Col that the character is currently holding will be lost (Unless they are preserved at home or in a bank). The character will then re-spawn.

A character can die an infinite number of times.

    Hardcore server death penalty:
On the hardcore server a character will have 3 green dots on its life bar, each dot will represent one life. This means that a character can die 3 times and re-spawn. If a character dies for the fourth time; all its data will be deleted from the database and the player is forced to start all over again. The character's name is reserved for the next 24 hours (he/she will also still remain in his current guild until the time limit is up). If the player fails to retrieve their character's name within the next 24 hours it will be up for grabs by anyone and they will also be removed from the guild the player was in automatically.

You might be wondering why isn't there any 1 death penalty, this is because this game isn't up to perfection as SAO was, there could be bugs, glitches, and plain internet lag or maybe you forgot to log off, which someone might just kill you, just to compensate for it, we've added 3 lives.

Still pretty hardcore, I'd say. Which server will you choose? ;D

Of course! Your character can have armour, cloaks and cosmetics. You'll also have the opportunity to create guild-customised armour.

You can read all game mechanics on our compiled Wikipedia.

If you guys wish to play it so badly (by that I mean, get access to the game as soon as we release our alpha - It's not ready yet, so don't worry) we are giving an Alpha Key every month to the 'Highest Tipper' on our Twitch Community Stream.

100% of donations go directly to game licensing. If you're curious to know where exactly that money goes, here is an image of our current licensing plans:

If you wish to become the 'Highest Tipper', donate to our Cardinal Community Twitch here: https://streamtip.com/t/cardinalcommunity

Our Twitch Stream can be found here: http://www.twitch.tv/cardinalcommunity

Thank you for the support, everyone. You don't have to donate, it's optional, we will try our best to get through the development.
