    So I was born in and currently live in America, but I received German education, and always was told to write dates like Day/Month/Year. All of my American friends say it's month/day/year, but idk. Also English words confuse me. Why are there different ways to spell the exact same word, like colour vs color, grey vs gray, and realise vs realize. I say colour, grey, and realise, and all of my American friends are telling me that isn't the way Americans spell those things. How do you all write dates and those words?

    day/month/year. It makes more sense. If it was month.day.year, then would that mean that the month changes first?

    After some Googling  research, apparently I write dates the European way. :)

    month/day/year (mostly schools make you do it though)

    also the words are different, i've heard, because the british english version(s) came first, but ended up getting simplified...? something like that, i can't really remember, oof.
