    genuinely such an interesting, complex story, i don't want to go too far into it because going in blind is always the best for stories like these. the art is breathtaking, the characters are amazingly written, the symbolism is well thought out. please give it a go, the premise is strange but it's really worth the whole read.

    a really cute story about a flower fairy who is banished from heaven for dropping a plate at (from my memory) a god's birthday. she meets a restaurant manager who is strangely familiar, and later that day another girl and lets her stay with her and her friend while bai lijin figures out how to navigate the human world.
    the art progression in this one is actually insane guys, please give it a read it's so sweet :)
    some suggestive moments and kissing, but nothing explicit, and everyone is an adult.

    day 6 of posting a yuri rec into the void every day: erio and the electric doll by kuroi mori
    status: completed, 45 chapters (5 volumes)

    possibly my favourite yuri ever apart from hdwr.
    erio and the electric doll is a post-apocalyptic story set after a war between ai and humans, and to prevent ai from eradicating humans, they banned electricity entirely. however, erio was born with the ability to generate electricity, and when her parents were killed in the war, an android found her, and they stuck together because erio has the power to keep her running.
    i really really love this one and the art is gorgeous, please give it a try <33

    gotta make this quick, so: common-sense monster follows itou, who has always been a social outcast, yet has never wanted to fit in with humans. one day, she walks in on her popular classmate takahashi, discovering that she has been a monster hiding inside the real takahashi's body for years... instead of being frightened or running away, itou asks the monster to be friends, wanting to learn how it fit in so well with humans while she couldn't.
    tw: slight gore, failed and non-explicit sa attempt
    really recommend this one if you like tatsuki fujimoto's works (esp. chainsaw man), itou really reminds me of denji. i swear this is just fujimoto in disguise bro, the art is different from his though but beautiful, please check it out!

    day 4 of posting a yuri rec every day: the skirt sings at the landing by utatane yuu
    status: completed, 31 chapters (6 volumes)

    'the skirt sings at the landing' is a beautiful story about overcoming stereotypes and gender roles. set in high school, second-year student kiki (pink hair, mc) is an unusually tall girl who has been dancing since she was young. she's always been the 'leader' in her all-girl dance groups because of her height, but she's always wanted to be the 'follower', just like her older sister. one day, her partner and childhood friend tells kiki that she's not going to dance with her anymore, and starts avoiding her. as kiki is surprised and upset by this, a first-year, michiru (black hair, left) joins the dance club. they are partnered together as kiki's partner is now dancing with someone else, and despite her small frame, michiru insists on being the leader, upset after kiki assumes that michiru would be the follower...
    another amazing introduction into yuri, and only 31 chapters. this one sits high up in my favourites for sure, please check it out!

    status: ongoing (16 chapters, 2 physical volumes set to release 20th august)

    an adorable, super wholesome shoujo romcom.
    featuring two childhood best friends who start dating after asaka (right) tells yuuki (mc, left) that a boy asked her out and that she's going to date him to gain experience with love. yuuki is annoyed at the thought of losing asaka's attention to this boy, and proposes on a whim that she dates asaka instead.
    this is also a great starting point if you're looking to get into gl, it's popular enough for it to warrant physical releases despite originally intended to be digital only, so you don't need to worry about it getting axed anytime soon (which is unfortunately common in yuri).
    definitely give this one a read, it's easy to catch up to with only 15 chapters being translated so far and it's so cute :> it's one of my favourite ongoing series atm!

    a curtain call for you is about two high school girls who start a drama club at their school to share sakura (mc)’s stories. it’s a unique, coming of age story that centres around confidence, and it’s completely appropriate for all ages. i’d recommend it as a good starting place if you’re looking to get into gl, or even if you’re not, because it’s a great story anyway.

    hey guys i'm bored so i'm gonna start posting one yuri a day. we're gonna start with my all time fav because i feel like it
    day one of posting yuri everyday: how do we relationship? by tamifull
    status: completed, 133 chapters (14 volumes)

    first off, content warning. it is intended for mature audiences, and there are depictions of depressive episodes.
    how do we relationship (tsukiatte agete mo ii ka na) is a slice of life manga about two girls in band club at college that decide to date on a whim after finding out they both like girls. despite the silly premise and fun cover, it's not exactly a light read, so don't go into it expecting pure fluff. however, if you are up to it, this read is absolutely worth it, every character and relationship is so complex and well written it actually amazes me. it is an honest, faithful, unapologetic depiction of adult relationships, and the characters and relationships are flawed, but that's what makes it so realistic.
    this manga will resonate with everyone, no matter what sexuality, although it will resonate with you most if you are queer, including on the ace spectrum.
    as much as i love fantasy yuri, this one blows everything else completely out the water. it is unrivalled apart from maybe some other josei yuri like run away with me girl. it's so good it makes me laugh when anyone even suggests that another yuri is the best yuri oat. hdwr is popular for a reason, just read it.
    tamifull is a genius and we applaud her!!
