I want more strategic PVP.
this could include the introduction of:
~weaker enchantments... I know what you're thinking, but this is more about putting skill into pvp than gear. I would be happy to see ONE of these things make it.
~Shields - stop most incoming damage (mobs, arrows, swords, etc.)
~Extra melee weapons: the stats would vary in range,knockback, and swing speed.
(ex: a spear would have good range, but would be bulky,slow and have little damage.)
~Advanced hit detection - damage depends on which part of the body is hit.
(ex: getting hit in; arms and legs: 50% of max damage, torso: 80% head: 100%)
~Injuries (maybe exclusive to a certain gamemode.)
causes damage to multiply when hit repeatedly in a specific area. maybe brutal injuries make the player unable to operate. ("Medic!")
~Addition of more ranged weapons. -what I've had in mind:
Musket: does a lot of damage at medium ranges and comes with bayonet for melee.
Blunder buss: fires a swarm of projectiles up to 12 blocks, each one does 2 dmg.
Rifle: 4 shots to a reload, armor has little effect, does as much damage as a bow.
crossbow: almost instakills unarmored targets... does next to nothing against armor.
(firearms would need to be aimed with RightMouseButton, fired with scroll wheel, and do next to nothing for melee [except the musket.] only the rifle can fire multiple rounds without reloading. repairing of firearms would consist of a major part of the mechanism. [damaged rifle -> bolt = new shiny rifle.] the common bow would still be reliable for light armor because it can fire repeatedly and accurately if the user has skills. the crossbow would be used for counter-sniping hidden gunmen.)
We have Redstone and gunpowder. yes we can make guns. don't argue. we have electric lamps, people were making the first pistols before oil lanterns were a thing.
I would also like to see the environment require specific gear, as in:
- needing snowshoes to walk through snow at a good pace. #Canada_problems
-removing armor to avoid meting your hunger bar in deserts (maybe water in a vial could raise your H-bar?)
-needing a chestplate in winter biomes to avoid frost DMG (excuse for wool armor?)
other things that'd make life easier:
-Oil lanters more light, can withstand explosions (to an extent.) maybe it can provide a lightsource when you walk with it.
-medical kit: can heal either you or a friend by 5 hearts with 3 uses.
-leaves have a chance of dropping sticks.
-knife - a flint & stick. this item would be the 1st thing you craft and will be able to break most blocks at a slow pace. to me, I'd just enjoy the extra realism of not punching trees to build shelter. so if I'm in adventure, I would need a knife.
-Favourite Item: mark a single item your character can carry that will never break. you can only do this once. for the entire time in that world/ server, you will always have that item on you, even when you respawn.
