    It's blatantly obvious that Jodie Whitaker's role as the new Doctor is a diversity hire/virtue signal by the BBC. The Doctor is only female because of "diversity" and "social progress". They're isolating a good chunk of Doctor Who fans who believe that the Doctor should be male, since he's been that way for almost 55 years, and a change like this would be too drastic for the show. This isn't surprising, considering that the BBC recently denied applications from two interns, simply for being white. Yes, Jodie is a very good actor (I've watched Broadchurch before), but Doctor Who isn't ready for this stuff yet. What they should've done is introduce a female Timelord as the next Doctor's companion (like Romana back during the Fourth Doctor's tenure), who is equally as brave and formidable as the Doctor.

    I could care less about the overarching themes of the show; I don't even watch the damn thing anymore. But this decision is way too heavy handed (politically speaking), and I guarantee that the ratings will plummet after the first or second episode of the season.

    And all of this will happen, simply because of PC culture and unnecessary social pandering.

    For the few people that actually like my posts, I'd like to wish my still-active followers a very merry Christmas and a happy, healthy New Year. I left PMC almost two years ago around this time, and a lot has changed since I left. Almost all of my followers are inactive, the forums have transformed into a platform for server ads, and I have grown out of the very games, movies and TV shows that were the basis for this account.

    I hope that both my account and the ones of all the people who still use PMC grow and prosper over the course of 2018.
