The greatest Television show is similar o the greatest Film, there is no such thing but the idea exists in the minds of the public. What is considered the 'best' is based purely on ones imagination while the best-made is a different story as it counts upon the production of the piece of cinema.

There are those who would consider common modern trends such as The Hunger Games, Twilight, Harry Potter, The Walking Dead or Divergent to be incredible pieces of cinema and while they are crafted to suit separate audiences there are also classics that a lot of us from the older generations consider to be far greater such as Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile, Forrest Gump or hell, even the original Star Wars Trilogy.

Best is a matter of opinion, the question should be "What is your favourite?"

It really depends on what we will be building,
I myself have built the majority of this map:

I am credited as builder and spent several months working on it. The other builders have either done very Little to almost nothing, the highest amount of dedication from another builder is 3 houses that were corrected by myself to ensure they were at an appropriate Quality.

What you Need to start with is experimenting shading styles and looking at a few tutorials. We were all noobs once and a lot of us were far worse than you.

I don't think all modern films are bad just the majority are so bland and over the top. If you are going to say someone is Close-minded I suggest possibly taking a look at what they're saying. There are very few modern pieces of Cinema that actually achieve anything other than explosions, cheap comedies and awful rip Offs and Remakes. There may be one film per year that isn't any of the above and half the time it still doesn't meet high Standards. Watchmen was a decent film in my opinion but to each their own. I do not choose to stay int he past but when things in the past still haven't been topped one cannot be blamed for praising.

You do realise half the People you're asking are like 10 so their answers will likely be silly Action movies with stories ripped off of one Thing or just explosions everywhere.
My picks:
The ShawShank Redemption and The Green Mile.
Often i find that the true masterpieces are 80's-90's films. I find the majority of modern Cinema quite silly. All films are These days are cheesy one liners, cheap comedies with bowel joes or explosions in every scene. The majority of successful Releases are usually just SuperHero flicks and Book Adaptions that are generally just ripped off of an older and far more interesting tale.

A fanbase that doesn't instantly try to make the game into Skyrim or Call of duty by saying "quests! MC Needs quests!" or "Guns! MC Needs guns!"

Just read this thread and have to say:

The Villagers are used as a way of trading emeralds. quit whining about the fact that they don't give you "quests" and all. That'd just be absolutely awful to have in Minecraft. this isn't skyrim.

Guns and cars? really? Any Kind of modern mode of Transport or weapon is absolutely not going into the game. stop trying to make it Call Of Duty, if you want that stuff go mod it.

I like the idea of more tameable Mobs but Dragons is just silly. I'd prefer to have Tameable sheep and cows in the sense that over time, the more you feed them and care for them the less likely they'll run away from your home.

-Cars would not work in Minecraft; neither would guns. stop trying to make Modern Warcraft 2

-Voice Chat is a stupid idea; imagine how irritating the 8 year olds would b ewhen the join a Server and stalk you screaming into their mics. There's Skype / TeamSpeak for a reason.

-Herobrine is a joke; having him ingame would be silly.

Agreed; i want Minecraft to stop production of the overworld mostly after a while and then start working on other dimensions therefore creatin an endless Network of gameplay and fun

More Mobs I have a blog about some cool Mobs that could be added and their uses.

Maybe a couple of dimensions to really broaden the gameplay and the worlds. ofr example a deep ocean world that you Need certain items equipped to survive in.

More structures. Minecraft is beautiful but it Needs more life to it.

Some new ores. Let's face it; we're pretty limited with our current ores. let's all embrace the Age of steel!

New weapons; spears, crossbow ( since guns are the worst idea ever), Maybe some Kind of magical weapon.

A command that sprays out particles in a certain pattern.
EXAMPLE: (imagine this in a command block)
/particleSpawn (pattern [funnel/cone/straightshot/singular]) x, y, z (direction)
The idea is it would spew out a range of particles. It could enhance maps and could be used for some nifty pvp and Server stuff.

Mod API

New building blocks; a few good ideas are some new brick varients, painted fences, tinted glass and a way to place slabs on top of each other without being the same type.

New bosses; preferably an oceanic boss and overworld Boss spawnable by using blocks similar to the wither.

Different beacon colours just for the sake of it. it'd make things prettier.

More crops and foliage.

More Utility blocks and ways to use them.

Floating Islands in certain biomes with a possible structure on them with hostile Mobs / loot in them. This'd be a good idea for the nether.

Lockable doors and chests. you could assign keys to them. depending on what the key is made out of it could be assigned to several doors.

Trap chests. Similar to a hostile slime but int he shape of a chest that attacks viciously when you open it. It'd make the nether way more dangerous.

More particles.

More uses for the current Mobs.

People who say "all of this mod" and "we Need guns and cars" are just silly. If mods became the game there'd be no fun in having mods. the horses were enough.
Guns and cars would not work in Minecraft; stop trying to make Minecraft into COD.

New berries, fruits and vegatables.
I also think having sheep drop raw lamb would be a good idea.

Laughing at the People making another excuse to blame Mojang and what they add. Minecraft has always had terrible Players it's just that as the game gets more popular the bad Players will be more frequent. Often half of the good Players These days end out griefing and stealing despite it just being a further Display of their laziness and greed.
