Yeah, that would be very useful! I've thought of the same idea, and it would help a lot of mapmakers (PvP/Custom/Adventure-maps) and you can not only use it for abilities, but also to start different clocks for different things to happen, for an example that something happens to the environment or other players. Definately a thing they should add!
