    There is no default, its both exactly the same. But Minecraft stores the true/false as a number. 0 beeing false, 1 beeing true. One is more readable, the represents how its stored on your PC.

    You can use true/false instead of 1/0. Custom Names are Json Text so you have to write it in quotes.

    Thats technicaly not the way xyz works. The Argument xyz selects Enties based on their distance from that position. If you specify no distance (Radius, or as you said, Volume) all entities will get selected. If you specify a Volume dx,dy,dz or a radius r it only selects Entities in a radius/volumen from that position.

    Are the Mobs realy despawning or are the chunks just unloaded? Because renamed Mobs can't despawn, that should be a major bug on your side.

    You coud use the old Villager trick. When a Player clicks a Villager with empty trades, no GUI pops up, but it still counts as trading. Trading with Villagers can be tracked with a scoreboard. Now place anywhere an invisible Villager with a special tag, lets say "button" and create a scoreboard "scoreboard objectives add click_villager stat.tradedWithVillager". Now if the score increases for any Player, test if there is a Villager with the tag "button" near them. If so the Player clicked the Button. Then you just have to reset the score and activate the commandblock.
