i have set mine last week, it was a loonnnnnnnng week ! At first you gone need at least 2 servers only to make it work : 1 server with bungee cord as your jar file (always show offline even when it work) 1 hub server to receive the players from your bungee cord server. After, the amount of server linked to it depend of you. I have try a nether portal teleportation plugin (don't remember the name) but the servers was receive massive lag. I have found «teleport signs» plugins and its perfect. All your servers have to be offline mode and have the CONNECTION THROTTLE TO -1 (in the bukkit.yml) to work.
You have to take your time and pay attention to all the settings. If you need help, i can try help you.
