Don't bother with a headset with a mic. If you want to record stuff, get a dedicated desktop mic instead. As for the headphones, you can't get much better than the ATH-M50x. If you want to save a few bucks, get the older version (ATH-M50). The sound quality is the same, with just some minor differences. My friend just bought some a few days ago and he loves them.

It works with your power supply, I know this as I have the exact same PC and I am getting this

This is a pretty good recommendation. If your case is indeed the desktop (not mini tower) size, then make sure it's a low profile-capable version.

I'd suggest Nvidia graphics on this one. AMD cards have issues with PCI express 1.1 on many motherboards that haven't had a decent BIOS update in a few years (which is probably most of them, especially proprietary Dell motherboards; ran into this issue myself while trying to install a Radeon HD 5450 in an old slim computer for an HTPC). On a related note, I wouldn't spend too much on whatever card you choose (check and make sure the power supply is enough), because you're already going to have serious CPU bottleneck.

EDIT: Check the case size! Make sure it supports full-height cards! Otherwise, you're stuck with a card that can fit a low-profile bracket, which you may or may not have to buy separately. If that's the case, forget about this PSU business, since those are usually low-power and feed off the motherboard power (no separate connector).

Maybe on high @ 1080. Possibly ultra @ 720p. 750Ti is a respectable card, but its focus is on saving power by feeding off the PCIe port only. Maybe bump up the PSU to 500W and go for an AMD Radeon HD 7850 (on sale at NewEgg here: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6814131562). It's a decent card, especially for the price.

*610. Still bad. Also, they used the wrong word (discreet) in the listing when they should have said 'discrete'. Two completely different meanings. Other than that, it's not terrible for the sub-$500 range. Just be aware that you may have to upgrade graphics cards to get a playable framerate at anything above ~720p. I don't personally like buying things from Wal-Mart anyway, so I would suggest to keep looking. Shader mods are out of the question.

Here's my two cents on the matter (especially pertaining to discussion about this on PMC): http://www.planetminecraft.com/blog/rel ... ip-advice/

As for tweens/young teens, they ought to enjoy being a kid for as long as possible. Boyfriends/girlfriends can be great, but not if pairing up ruins in the long run what would have been a healthy relationship had it not been made "Facebook Official."

jman0111550$ is a verryyy small budget if you want good fps.
I suggest you build a custom desktop. For the type of computer you want, you probably have to spend 700$-1200$ depending on how fast you want your computer to be.
    Suggestions:
Instead of the 500 GB 7200 rpm, I suggest you get a 500GB SSD, because they are better quality, and never will fail. They also load maps faster than normal drives, but they can be more expensive than the normal drives.
I also suggest you get Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit because it is easier to use (in my opinion) and is less expensive.
Also, if you are to buy a computer, don't use Amazon, but use this site
http://www.newegg.com because it is mainly computers and you would find better quality, and you can ask questions and get answers from experts.
    Hope this helped

SSDs do have a limited life span, and the few 500GB SSDs around are very expensive. Go ahead and get Windows 8.1. It's not much higher in price, not that much different once you set up boot to desktop, better optimized, and will be supported for longer. Processor is okay, but you definitely want to get a better graphics card. Radeon HD 8350 is a bottom-of-the barrel card that you can't even buy individually. Look up reviews for cheap graphics cards and find one that fits in your price range (for BF4 to run at any playable level, you'll have to spend at least $100-150, and reviews should help you figure out which one will give you the best bang for your buck). With midrange graphics cards, you get what you pay for, so don't cut back on that. On a side note, make sure your power supply supports the graphics card you're getting.

Last two I've watched are Rurouni Kenshin and Big O. Last I checked, they were both on Youtube (that's where I saw them). Rurouni Kenshin is about a reformed assassin in post-feudal Japan, and Big O is basically Batman + humongous mecha (which is incredibly awesome). Both are older, but they're both really good. I also do like FMA.

In fact, get the highest clocked i5. Unless you're doing something highly threaded like video editing with professional software, paying the extra money for an i7 will not get you any performance gains, especially not in the gaming realm. Don't pay for HyperThreading you're not going to use.

Hmm...I've played around with Linux Mint on an old PC I got at a yard sale (Pentium dual-core as well), but I haven't had any major problems like you have. Have you tried a wired connection or a USB Wi-Fi dongle? Compatibility is pretty good with those, and I got one to work right out the box that required some drivers to install for it to work in Windows. Try figuring out the motherboard chipset or information about the dedicated Wi-Fi info and see if there's some sort of bug. I think you'll have a hard time getting too much legit advice on here. The Linux Mint forums are pretty friendly, I hear.

High-end AMDs aren't that bad, and they're usually cheaper. My desktop has an old Phenom II x6, and it's definitely not a limiting factor in my build.

*cough* Minersneedcoolshoes/whatever other part picker you wish to mention - made skins are not allowed on PMC, just for the record. I prefer MCSkin3D personally, although Paint.NET or GIMP will do the trick about as well.

He has a pretty high-powered graphics card, I wouldn't cut back on the power supply. Also, the AMD APU wouldn't be a good choice. I would go Intel, or get a standard AMD CPU since you have a dedicated graphics card. Of course, you'll have to buy a different motherboard either way. The build described above doesn't look too bad, and is definitely a strong build for the money.

Just for the record, Windows 8.1 is greatly improved from Windows 8, and functions almost exactly like Windows 7. I have managed (without any complicated modifications) to almost completely cut out the start screen and other annoyances.

Finally, if you just cut out the WiFi adapter, you can get this below $800. Wired is better for desktops if at all possible, anyway.

    650ti better than a 660ti OC? I don't think so.

    Definitely at least a 7/10, maybe 8.

G0dlyCheese...it is physically impossible to not have a brain and still
be alive. You can get a brain transplant, but if you do, sucks to
    be you.

If you really want to get technical, have you heard of anencephaly? The end result is indeed premature death, yet some cases exist where the patient has lived for a few years on basically nothing but a brainstem.

    Also, brain transplant? Seriously?
