    this is completely random but i need to throw this out real quick; does anyone have any tips on drawing animals? i'd like to draw more of them because i want to widen my ~expertise~ but i'm not sure where to start. let me know if you have any tips or even random knowledge, i'll appreciate anything :)

    Well some YouTube channels teach you how to do it in a very good fashion, but
    Others keep doing it in a very annoying way that it feels like they are shoving it down my throat.

    Yeah, I use references for everything I want to turn out good. If it's a school assignment where art doesn't matter, then I don't use a reference. If it's something for my own pleasure, then of course I use a reference.

    i once drew a dog without referances, and it ended up looking like a gofer or something.
    then i took a referance (i had it next to me and i looked off of it often) and it looked like the dog :D

    hello to the 25 homo sapiens that are my subscribers,
    so, as you can tell, i have been pretty inactive. the reason for that is because i will stop making skins on pmc.
    why? well, there is a very simple reason, but it is a bit complicated in my eyes for some apparent reason. first of all, i am very uninspired and i usually feel like making a skin is a chore that i have to do, and it's not as fun as skinning once used to be. it's also very stressful, and skinning can put a lot of weight on your shoulders as well as distract you from more important things, like homework and real life hobbies. it's very stressful and unhealthy, and i am not a fan of it.
    there are also a few other reasons that i'd like to address just for the fun of it.
    1) other people on pmc obviously have much more talent than me. yes, everyone does encourage me, saying that all i need is practice. but, when i compare my skins to others, i immediately become discouraged because i don't have the skill that they do. and i never will. others might say that certain people will help me, but then that will force me to adapt their own style and that's not exactly making me have my own style for skins.
    2) skinning just isn't as fun as it used to be. it's stressful, and feels like a chore. i've completely lost my interest.
    3) contests. whenever i try my absolute hardest on something, so sosososososo hard, it's never worth it. this has happened in real life more times than i can count, and it's so frustrating. yes, you might say that i have to practice, but for what? an honorable mention? i do remember one contest where i worked my absolute hardest and even made it based from the roots of a certain song. not naming the contest, but i didn't even get an honorable mention, and instead a worse skin did. yes, this may make me a sore loser, and i know that because sometimes i'm just like that lmao, but it's incredibly discouraging and the contests just feel like another way to be stressed, only for it to be worth nothing in the end.
    4) the people. words can't even express how rude some of the people on here are, and although it might not be intentional, it bothers me immensely. they always boast, point out all of my mistakes, and make me feel like the worst skinner ever. i get enough of that crap in real life (other situations lol not skinning), so i'm just going to avoid any other sort of rudeness i get from anyone on the internet. that includes pmc.
    those reasons are off the top of my head, and i hope i didn't make anyone mad or offended. if you are, that's your problem, and i'm not gonna be on here at all anymore so don't even bother to comment if you're going to say something rude. that's all lmao, i will miss some people on here and i have had a bit of fun here despite all the flaws. goodbye, for now :)

    I’ve struggled with lack of inspiration many times and comparison has become a large issue to me. I can relate to feeling like ive been making crap and there’s so many other people that can do so much better than me. I respect your reasons, stay safe ❤️

    Honestly, I feel the same way. It's hard to be a skinner, especially if it stresses you out, prevents you from doing other things, or it just doesn't seem fun anymore. I hope you'll feel better and relax for now. Farewell!

    ok sorry for posting but i just gotta say:

    i feel like everyone's skins are just blending together. I mean that because they're starting to all look the same. Trust me, there's nothing wrong about it, but it's harder and harder for me to differentiate which skin belongs to who without looking. People are losing their shine.

    Same. But tb,h I think it looks better in the editor because you can see all the 3d models (overlays) and when it's uploaded they're kinda squished and not as easily seen like on the editor..
