thinking about changing my profile's theme again, the only aesthetic I seem to be consistent in having is being all over the place and not just sticking with one theme. On one hand I could make it look like a spooky pretty ghost lady lives here and on the other hand my profile might look edgy and purple- idk

in other words how does one pick a theme when they like multiple different things that clash looks wise with one another? Should I bother?

like it would be nice to have a nice looking profile but I keep changing it anways sdfghgfgh how do I just pick one look when multiple things are cool?

Found this while looking for FNAF skins, I remember when Mineteria used to be a thing back when I was 12 in 2020. Wonder how this will turn out, wanted to share this finding for anyone interested in its development.

Hello, tried following a youtube tutorial by MannyQUESO on how to make a CIT pack for 1.20.1. I have the bb.model saved from blockbench, I have the texture.png file saved, and the .json still, but every time I try to rename the carved pumpkin to my custom model it still appears as a carved pumpkin. Anyone have any suggestions? P.S I tried both fabric cit resewn and the cit resewn port for forge and both ended up with the same issue.
Heres the video I used for reference: https://youtu.be/tiCXG8kugxo?list=PLRBktEMbUw40S6XpnF9zOg8Ajorb8RXor

Edit: I forgot to mention I'm using the CIT base pack he included in the description of his video
    Starling_Faewn2025-01-26 12:08:20
Oh thank you! I tried to give everything the same name just to make it easier - also didn't know that bb.model files were unrequired :V Thank you for the help, I should probably take a look at one of yours and just see how its all setup. Thank you!
    JJ_Senpai2025-01-26 11:30:07
You need to make a CIT (.properties) file for renaming. Make sure the texture files are correctly linked in the .json file. Make sure the .json file is correctly linked in the cit file and the nbt.display.name value is the same as how you're trying to rename the item.

The bb.model file is not needed for CIT texture packs. I recommend not adding them to the texture pack files.

If you're unsure of what any of this means download one of mine or really any CIT texture pack and take a look at the files. It will take some trial and error to figure everything out if you're new to this.

One thing to note tho, this is all my experience from working with Optifine CIT, however it should still be the same or similar process for Forge, Fabric, etc.

Hello, so I got a new laptop recently and when I try to load curseforge for 1.20.1 it keeps crashing with error code 1. I removed all the mods in the pack and it still wouldn't work. I think it might have to do with the amd driver graphics card or something?.. literally asking anyone for advice because I know its not the mods and idk how to fix this. My laptop is an Aspire 3 15.
    Starling_Faewn2024-12-18 18:08:51
Thank you, isn't a bad idea to look into the Java situation and see if I have the right things installed.
    SidewaysEight2024-12-15 21:34:06
only idea i have is to double check your forge and java installations
    maybe redownload?

i'm really not a tech person lol

should I keep the way my profile looks or go back to the old way it looked with the lace/gloomy theme? :P

Wanted to ask, how much does keeping a consistent aesthetic benefit someone's profile? I keep finding myself interested in many different things, so its harder for me to stick to one consistent thing. However, it would be nice if it did all match or was cohesive.
    Starling_Faewn2024-10-11 16:23:17
I cant blame you for not wanting to go through all the work lol, but yeah I guess that is a plus side. Few plus sides.
    Starling_Faewn2024-10-11 16:22:30
Hmm, thats a cool way of looking at it, I didn't really think of that
    ScotsMiser2024-10-11 14:15:54
Across the profile page I don't think irt matters much, particularly if you can make the disparate elements 'harmonize'

Acroos time, I think there's something to be said for keeping one's avy to variations on a theme (if not just consistent) as visual memory is often more reliable that verbal memory [Note the presence IRL of brand logos.]
    DinowCookie2024-10-11 13:12:27
Benefit of keeping things the same is that other members will associate you with it and might remember your profile/content for a longer time thanks to it.
    ajthepeach2024-10-11 13:02:19
the only reason why i havent chanhed my profile by now ks becajse i dont qanna go thru all thw work again, and i think it would gain more traction if u changed kt a lot becasue people wokld wanna see how different it ks

might jusr be me tho dont take mt word for it
    drzzter2024-10-11 12:58:50
i think eclectic mis-matched profiles have their own charm, esp if everything is kind of tangentially related. i.e my profile is kind of a mess but i really like horror themes so most of the stuff on my profile pertains to horror in one way or another

Heyy, just letting you guys know I deleted me skins :V didn't really look as nice on my profile with everything else even tho I could've just left em. Side note, Anyone else get insecure about their skin making skills sometimes?
    Starling_Faewn2024-09-16 22:02:46
yeah, its nice to know that we aren't alone in life when it comes to stuff like that. No problem!
    wqffles2024-09-16 21:25:46
yeah i get that, it'd be nice if people could talk more abt it. and while everyone has limits, its a pretty universal experience!
oh well. seeing this post felt good tho, i don't feel very good abt my skins and it's kinda comforting to know other people feel the same sometimes, so thank you!! :]
    Starling_Faewn2024-09-16 20:06:45
ah yeah, I dont interact much here on pmc so I'm not actually sure how many people discuss feeling insecure about your skin making but I kinda wish more ppl did ngl :V idk maybe thats a hot take, I know not everyone wants to hear a bunch of negative sometimes. (Which is understandable, even I have my limits.)

    all. of. the. stinkin’. time.

Heyyo, so I don't have proof of it but in the past MissGhouls here on PMC posted a CIT tutorial on their YT channel, and linked a file in the description for free to use CIT code so people could follow along with her video and make one with her. Since then I believe its been removed from her channel, and I don't have that file anymore. In short, I don't want to plagiarize anyone's work, do you think it would be safe to just copy some of the code from the official pack? I'm trying to find an easy way to go about making a CIT that doesn't require too much effort so I can model and texture however I may need and not worry about the coding portion. Any ideas or advice?

TLDR: I'd like to make a CIT pack but don't know how to code it, and would like an easy source to use to make one, or some advice.

Question for anyone willing to answer, are shadows supposed to be more saturated or desaturated? same thing when it comes to light when shading a skin.
    Starling_Faewn2024-08-19 16:30:06
huh, I don't understand a lot of what you just said but thank you for letting me know! ^-^; but yeah, all in all I think as you and two other people said its almost a matter of winging it.
    Starling_Faewn2024-08-19 16:29:01
Yeah, it seems you and a few others have basically come to the same conclusion in a sense
    drzzter2024-08-18 00:00:55
traditionally, more desaturated . i prefer doing what "feels right" instead of adhering to any particular method, though
    ScotsMiser2024-08-17 23:22:12
With an HSV color model shadows would simply lower the value (make the shade more black/darker) and (in a completely accurate colorspace) tend to somewhat desaturate the shade to emulate how the human eye becomes less sensitive to color in low light situations.
[The rate at which a specific hue desaturates also varies which adds a bit of complexity.]

With most computer color models the value can be varied with little or no effect on the saturation, so one might need to manually twear this.

Generally speaking, I mainly do shadows by varying the value component (then just 'eyeballing' any parts that look too 'colored').

Something similar happens when an object gets bright as the eye becomes swamped with photons.
For computer graphics, I've found this end to be less problematic as making an area very bright (high value) seems to fix the issue on its own.

In both cases I'd not worry too much about pixel saturation outside of deep shadow (or very bright highlights), but — if it looks 'wrong' to you — tweak it.
    ajthepeach2024-08-17 23:13:27
it depends on the vibe, i guess? irl youd see both of them, it just depends on the lighting level i think

I dunno if I'm the only person wondering, but theres a pack I found I don't know how long ago, but it changes some of the models for grass to have twigs, small rocks, and mushrooms. The file says its named Gray's Tweaks, so I'd assume it's made by GrayCaninne her on PMC but I can't seem to find it anywhere on here when I search it. Anyone else wondering if it got deleted? Just something small I've thought about.
