Minecraft as a whole has been a slowly dying game in general. Many major youtube personalities like Sky Does Minecraft have quit from Minecraft, the main creator notch didn't even wanna keep the game under his arm due to the amount of stress it gives. I think though with Microsofts increase in improving the game and the competition between Minecraft and Roblox that it will slowly grow again, no matter how brief.

I've had this problem before as well. The solution is usually to uninstall java and minecraft all together, make you sure you back up everything first. Then re-installing the latest version off the web on the correct format your using. For me its Windows 7 32 bit. If that doesn't work then google auto repair java and you then run a program from the java site and that should fix it. If not tell me.

Make sure you have the latest update of Windows that your using. This is an issue in the game where it saves every couple of seconds. If you have it then go turn off "Threaded Optimization" in the "Manage 3D Settings" section of the Nvidia control panel. That usually does the trick.

Don't give the guy above access to your control panel, just search it on Youtube and you'll find a good instruction video after awhile.

Try a different internet browser. On my computer windows explorer doesn't handle PMC very well. Try either FireFox or Google Chrome.
