OptiFine is hardly a mod, it really only adds fps enhancement and now that the spyglass exists, combined with a resource pack to get rid of the overlay such as Vanilla Tweaks (and resource packs don't really count as mods), and the fact that it zooms further than OptiFine, its basically not even a mod. Though if you use OkZoomer like me, it is considered a mod because your need Fabric to run it and you can zoom even further than a spyglass + control how far you've zoomed.
