I have been looking for a server to build a highway system upon, even if the server radius is only 5000 blocks (5 km). I have been experimenting for the past month with this and would like to apply. My highways (free or toll) are built like this:
- With WorldEdit for easier and faster building, especially in Extreme Hills biomes
- Each lane is 2 blocks (2 meters) wide and is separated by lane or directional separators
- Block Key for each purpose
- Black Concrete - land pavement
- White Concrete - lane separator (3-meter long lines separated by one black concrete block, exception being when near ends)
- Yellow Concrete - directional separator
- Gray Concrete - acts as a bridge pillar
- Light Gray Concrete - bridge pavement
- Green Concrete - highway sign (from where the signpost goes upon)
- Signpost - for exits and other notification signs
- Glowstone - for light during the night
- Cobblestone Wall - walls off both dangerous areas and opposing directional lanes
If you do not want tollways nor freeways in the server, then I will not bother. Go ahead and tell me if you would like. (By the way, I am 19)
