yoo it's been a long time since i've posted any news about the pack, so why not talk about where im at with 1.0.0?

first of all, yes, there was a big hiatus simply because i got a bit fed up (cauz man, 1 year of almost non-stop work sure gets a bit tiring, exams and school aside). so i drifted off into other projects, such as focusing on pure pixel art training n' practice, additionally contributin to other cool projects

about the pack, i did work a little and i can say that im almost done texturing every passive mobs (might release a beta version? idk) but yea gonna have to wait a while for me to ruin the remaining mobs

ps :hope this giraffe will help you to forgive me

ZIFIX • 2024-01-06 03:18:39

damn, this also happened to me in 2021 on my old laptop with a very early pack. even tho it sucks to lose everything, the reassuring thing is that youre still improving and will do better in the future

a new post in less than one month no way

2023 is almost over and that comes with the last update of the year (just a hotfix, nothing to get excited about). 0.8.1 will be soon released, maybe this friday with some cool retextures and changes like usual, specifically some real old textures from the pack's early days getting changed. throughout the year my style changed a lot. oh yea here are the most noticeable changes from the hotfix

0.8.0

0.8.1

(my favorites gonna be the end pillar fr it reminds me of a sonic stage)

ZIFIX • 2023-12-09 10:07:33

sure thing ironically they're the oldest textures of the group, dating back a few months

Nitgo • 2023-12-09 08:41:42

The best drawn textures here are the golden apple, and the golden carrot. well drawn with attention to reflection. However, the textures i think need reworking is the poisonous potato, and the glow-berries, as the seem to be quite non-glowing.

Ravacodo So nice and clean! How do I get into making texture/gui packs? Do you use a specific program?
ZIFIX • 2023-09-03 13:37:59

thanks, glad you liked it!

about that, its hard to explain due to how instinctive it is, what I mainly do is to use the in-game textures as a "model" to base myself on, usually to determine the GUIs layout format but the important thing is to try and practice, I also use the order of the creative inventory to have a roadmap if it can helps

(and for the program it is quite anecdotal and will depend rather on people. I went from paint.net, photoshop to finally with aseprite and the experience was practically the same apart from the differences, the palette of choice is very large so its up to you to see according to your preferences)
