In the beginning, the swift but gruesome deaths caused by the evoker were limited to the overworld, where only helpless villagers and inexperienced players would fall victim. But things would only get worse once the evoker found out about the nether, hearing hushed whispers of a place with many a danger, and more loot than you could begin to imagine. Gold! Netherite! And so many more helpless victims! After threatening, torturing, and eventually killing a villager scholar to find the whereabouts of a nether portal, the evoker proceeded. He travelled day and night, through rain and snow and thunder, until he at last reached the swirling, mystifying portal. He lit it with a flint and steel and stepped in.
For years, he mined and stole gold and netherite, and oh, how powerful he had become. His old robe had been melted in lava, and the new robe was decorated with the nether-like shapes. His eyes suffered from the heat, and slowly, they became blood red. He gained so much wealth, that soon, his crossbow was festooned with gold - not that he needed a weapon. Finally, he walked back out of the nether portal, after more than a decade. Things in the overworld were about to get a lot worse.
