The strong figure towers over the trembling adventurer, the guttering candlelight casting a two-horned shadow over the human's face. A stained iron axe slides out of its sheath and swings downward in a deadly arc. A feral grunt drowns out the smash of iron against bone and the towering figure turns, revealing its terrible visage: The head of a bull, the chest of a man.

The minotaur is a common mythological creature, seen in the story of King Minōs and Theseus.
Theseus entered into the Labyrinth of King Minōs and killed the minotaur, returning to his own kingdom victorious. Minotaurs have gone down in legends, most commonly seen today in Dungeons and Dragons.

I originally posted this pretty early on in the contest, and I congratulated myself on submitting something somewhat original. Then a few days later I noticed about 3 other minotaur skins posted, and I was annoyed at myself for not picking a less widely known topic. Oh well. The minotaur idea always inspires me, for some reason. Something about the sheer strength, I guess.
