The Phoenix would be a cool addition to Minecraft. We already have parrots, so adding new bird variants would be perfect, because leaving the parrot alone as the only bird in Minecraft doesn't give much variety. It could spawn in the Crimson Forest biome in the Nether. As of right now, the Crimson Forest is pretty empty. The Warped Forest has enderman, but the Crimson Forest doesn't have any special mobs to live there. The Phoenix could be tamable using crimson roots or weeping vines. It would act just like a parrot, but have a special ability where if it dies, it respawns in its ashes as a baby Phoenix. Fire and smoke particles would fly everywhere as it comes back to life. It can only respawn once. The second time it dies, it's gone. The reason why players would want to tame this mysterious creature would be because of its ability to perch on a hostile mob's shoulder setting it on fire. The Phoenix will only do this to mobs that burn in daylight. And finally, the Phoenix takes damage in rain, water, and extra damage from freezing.
