Building Blocks Mod Maker is a tool that allows users to create their own simple mods through creation tags in special .bbmm files. Everything you need to know is in the README included with the download, so please take a look at that if you decide to try it out. This is meant to simplify such things as adding new blocks, world gen, structures, tools, crafting recipes, armor, smelting recipes, among other things. Please read the README first, and if you begin to have trouble after that, then consult me. If the solution to the problem, I will quote the README and ask you to read it again, so please. Read the README. Seriously.

Open to suggestions, if you have questions AFTER you've read the README, feel free to ask! If you have trouble that isn't covered in the README, feel free to consult me. If anyone would like to make tutorial videos, spotlights, let's plays, etc. feel free to do so. Enjoy!

For those who are having trouble getting started making mods, look at the README file that is included in the download. If you are still not sure what to do, wait awhile; I have someone making a more in-depth guide to using the mod and will include it in future versions.
I read the readme but im still confused
please make a mob maker

thanks
I don't get how to start making the mod.
How do you use this?

Not sure why you left the name off, but you don't define the metadata, you just add it to the id with 186. The order you add them in will define the metadata automatically. Look at the download in the description that I added, it has working examples of everything.

I've added the download for Unnecessary Hardware, a BBMM mod. Instructions are in the download.

EDIT: Updated the download for Unnecessary Hardware, it now includes a fully-fledged .cvl file for Minor Alchemy users.
say my new furnace code is written like so:
furnace, Power Compressor, 179, 15.5, true, false, powerSide, powerTop, powerOff, powerOn
and the directory is like this:
minecraft/mods/BBMMv.../assets/bbmm/textures/gui/Power Compressor
did i do this right? for some reason the gui still doesnt work

powerCompressor is the correct name for the GUI.
as for ore rarity, would increasing it make it rarer or more common?

Increasing will make it less rare. 1 is the minimum.
small confusion with multiblocks. do we make a block, then turn it into a multi, or make it straight as a multi?

Straight as a multiblock. I believe there is a mistake for the example in the README. As long as you follow the reference for this it should work.
nevermind, i solved that, however need to fix a shapeless recipie involving it.
could there be a way to make slabs, stairs, doors, trapdoors, fences, fence gates, walls, bows and arrows? that would be awesome

What do you mean "walls?"
like cobblestone walls

Maybe, I'll have to find the time to do all of that. In the meantime, if you happen across anyone looking to make an easy mod, you might ask them to make a plugin.
i read the readme, however am still encountering a problem. everything is organized on mine EXACTLY like this:
minecraft/mods/BBMMmetroid/assets/BBMM/textures/blocks/block.png
minecraft/mods/BBMMmetroid/assets/BBMM/textures/items/samusTheme.png
minecraft/mods/BBMMmetroid/assets/samusTheme.ogg
minecraft/bbmm/metroid.bbmm
minecraft/bbmm/testFort.otm

all instructions were followed as in the readme, however the block will not appear, the record texture will not appear, the record sound will not play, and the structure will not generate. help?

The textures go into the official BBMM zip file, such as BBMM v0.8.1.2 (MC 1.6.2).zip. The .ogg files go into the assets folder in .minecraft, not in the zip. Make sure you are telling the mod to generate your structure.

Alternatively, you can put your .png and .ogg files in a resource pack and they will work just the same if you don't want to bother editing the mod's zip file.
hey, do you think you could add a feature to make blocks breakable only by explosions? or armor with status effects?

You can make blocks breakable by explosions by giving them a -1.0 hardness but a 0.0 resistance.
so confusing

Question...

Is there a way to use current textures of already made blocks and just edit them for a different purpose?

Like for example, say I wanted to edit the "still water" block and make it literally just a block that looks like still water...?

No. Unfortunately, it only works with adding new content. I removed vanilla overrides because it started to get messy after the move to 1.5.

Is this allowed on PMC?

Yes. This is original content and involved more than just minimal effort. I believe the confusion lies in the fact that mods made with mod making tools are not allowed, but the mod making tools themselves are not included.
