NOTE: it should still work with 1.6+ but you need to replace "minecraft_server.jar" with the latest version from www.minecraft.net/download. remember to rename the file you downloaded exactly to the old files name

since my last post "server generator" got so many views, i decided to take it to the next level
with this tool you can select a singleplayerworld and convert it to a server so you can play with friends
how to use:
-choose your world
-select a path to save the server
-set the options
-enter your name(not stealing data, just to make you op from the beginning on)
-click "Create the Server"
-follow the instructions on the popup-window

?
You could go into your routers settings, maybe it has some information on it as well
