Special Snowballs Datapack
This datapack is more of a proof of concept, but I decided to release it nevertheless.
It adds 11 types of snowballs which do certain things when the snowball hits a block or entity.
This datapack uses ground-crafting to craft the snowballs.
Mojang, please add NBT crafting. It won't take that long and we all want it. Also editing player NBT while you're (hopefully) at it.
Lightning Charge
The Lightning Charge spawns lightning when it hits a block or entity. You can craft it by dropping 16 snowballs and one Book of Enchanting with the Channeling enchantment.
Ice Ball
The Ice Ball freezes all entities within a few blocks when it hits a block or entity. It can be crafted by dropping 16 snowballs and 4 packed ice.
Fire Ball
The Fire Ball spawns fire in a 4x4x4 area, and sets all entities within 8 blocks on fire. Additionally, it turns all nearby ice to water. It can be crafted by throwing 16 snowballs and 8 fire charges on the ground.
TNT Ball
The TNT Ball spawns TNT that instantly explodes at the snowball's hit location. It is compatible with the mobGriefing gamerule.
Poison Ball
The Poison Ball inflicts all nearby enemies with poison. It can be crafted by throwing a Long Lingering Potion of Poison and 16 Snowballs on the ground.
Lava Ball
The Lava Ball spawns lava in a 3x3x3 around it. It melts all ice nearby. To craft it, throw one lava bucket and one snowball on the ground.
Water Ball
The Water Ball spawns water in a 5x5x5 area around it. It also turns all nearby lava to obsidian. Craft it by throwing one bucket of water and one snowball on the ground.
Sponge Ball
The Sponge Ball absorbs all nearby water and drops a wet sponge after use. Craft it by throwing 16 sponges and 16 snowballs on the ground.
Wither Ball
The Wither Ball inflicts all nearby mobs with a short wither affect. To craft it, throw one wither skeleton skull and 16 snowballs on the ground.
Damage Ball
The Damage Ball damages all nearby mobs instantly. Craft it by throwing 4 fermented spider eyes and 16 snowballs on the ground.
Weakness Ball
The Weakness Ball inflicts the Weakness effect on all nearby mobs. Throw a Long Lingering Potion of Weakness and 16 snowballs on the ground to craft it.
How To Install
In the download link, you will be redirected to an (Ad link removed) link. Wait and DO NOT CLICK ANY ADS. If you click any ads, you will risk getting a virus! Click the Skip Ad button in the top right corner. You will get redirected to a MediaFire page. Do not click any ads and click the green download button in the middle of the screen.
To install, unzip the .zip file you downloaded. There is a resourcepack .zip file and the datapack.
To install the datapack, go to your .minecraft folder, then into saves, then into the world you want to install the datapack in, then into the datapacks folder, then cut and paste the datapack from Downloads into the datapacks folder.
To install the resourcepack, cut the resourcepack .zip and paste it in the resourcepacks folder in your .minecraft.
