THE MAGIC WANDS MOD(V2.2)!

**If, for some odd reason, the download button here isn't working or you feel extremely generous and would like to support me by sitting through 5 seconds worth of adfly, the link to the minecraft forum post is right here. <---

For as far as I can tell, this mod is compatible with optifine 1.6.4 so for those with lower end machines, I've got you covered.
I haven't tested any other mods so I'm not saying that optifine is the only mod out there to be compatible with mine, just the only one that I've tested. Anyway, without further ado...**

This is My first real go at a mod and I think it turned out pretty well. I've decided to center it around magic items (specifically wands and armor). It requires minecraft 1.6.4 and forge 1.6.4 and adds 50+ new features that include:

4 new sets of armor:
**All of these suits of armor are crafted in the same fashion as all vanilla suits of armor. They all use their respective stones except the Magic armor which uses magic ingots, which are crafted by putting an iron ingot in the middle and surrounding it with magic dust**
Magic Armor-
If you're wearing just the helmet you get a constant night vision effect
If you're wearing just the chest you get a constant resistance effect
If you're wearing just the leggings you get a constant speed boost
Finally, if you're wearing just the boots you get a constant jump boost
Firestone Armor-
If you're wearing a full set you get a fire resistance effect that lets you walk in lava
Waterstone Armor-
If you're wearing a full set you get the ability to breathe underwater
Bloodstone Armor-
If you're wearing a full set you get a constant resistance effect and slight regeneration effect
Levitation Armor-
If you're wearing a full set you can fly! Levitation armor is crafted with wind crystals in the standard fashion with feathers in the missing parts
(E.g. Helmet has one feather in the bottom middle of the actual helmet,
chest has feather in the last possible spot,
leggings have in the groin section,
and boots have two in the middle)

5 new naturally spawning ores:
FireStone Ore- Drops Fire Stone
WaterStone Ore- Drops Water Stone
LightingCrystal Ore- Drops a Lightning Crystal
BloodStone Ore- Drops a blood stone
Magic Stone- Drops 4 magic dust
They all drop their respective stones, crystals, and dusts but when the lightning crystal is right clicked it "electrifies" any situation...I'm sorry I couldn't help myself

1 new smelting recipe:
 Wind Crystal-
Made by putting a lightning crystal in the furnace, used to make levitation armor.

2 new mechanical blocks:
A magic ore finder:
Analyses the dirt underneath the block down to bedrock and finds the highest instance of any ore whether it be vanilla or from the mod. Simply place it down and right click. It is created by putting a diamond block in the middle slot, magic dust all around it except for the bottom, which is a glass block.
A magic miner:
Powered by one lapis block, the magic miner digs straight down 20 blocks (except the block directly underneath for safety purposes) and rains them down on the player. To power it you simply shift-rightclick the top of the block with a lapis block and once it's placed on top you right click again and you should get a notification that the block is at 100% power. This is crafted by making a brand new magic pickaxe and surrounding it with magic dust.

To conclude the blocks portion of this write-up there is one last block that is crucial to this mod which is the magic wood. It is crafted by surrounding any wooden plank with magic dust. If you put two of them on top of each other you get 4 magic sticks. They're also a pretty decorative block but they come at a hefty price to be making floors and walls out of.

This mod also includes a new complete tool set, the Magic Tool Set, as well as 3 new swords that have different, usefuleffects. The magic tool set is crafted in the same fashion as all the other tool sets but it uses magic sticks and magic ingots. It's slightly more powerful than diamond however its about half as durable, given that it uses magic ingots as its material. The other three swords are as follows:
The Firestone sword: Crafted by stacking two firestones on top of a magic stick, it sets fire to any mob that you decide to strike.
The Waterstone sword: Crafted by stacking two waterstones on top of a magic stick, if you right click it while you're on fire it extinguishes you, potentially saving your life and all of your hard earned items.
The Bloodstone sword: **Now with crafting recipe!!!** Crafted by stacking two bloodstones on top of a magic stick, it draws the life energy from any mob you strike and adds it to your own. It kills things and saves lives! It's a win-win.

Before we get into the wands part of this mod (you know, the thing you all probably came here for...all 3 of you) I'd like to go over the three items that don't really fit into any other category other than miscellaneous so here goes:
The Magic Clock: crafted with one redstone in the middle with magic ingots above, below, and to the left and right of it, this item changes the time from day to night and night to day. It's like a bed without all of that "sleeping" nonsense.
The Port-A-Portal: crafted with a fire charge in the middle surrounded by eight obsidian it does exactly what it sounds like it does, makes a portal for you wherever you are. Even though the recipe is two obsidian short of an actual nether portal I think it's fair because if you somehow manage to know how to craft a fire charge you deserve the two free pieces of obsidian.
The Magic Wood Axe: This is crafted by putting a magic axe in the middle, two peices of magic wood on either side, and any type of wood in the remaining spaces. It functions like a regular magic axe when you break anything but when a piece of wood is right clicked it breaks that piece of wood and any other piece of wood above or below it. I made it only destroy the wood blocks above and below it so as to minimalize any accidental damage to things that are right clicked i.e. a home made out of logs.

Finally, we get into the wands section of this mod overview! So without further ado lets jump right in:

The Master Wand: Crafted with two magic sticks on the diagonal and a magic dust at the end, I think it would be more fun to allow you to figure out what it does so why not just craft it and start right clicking on stuff, there's plenty of things to be transmuted from regular blocks to crops to explosives!
The Weather Wand: Crafted with two magic sticks on the diagonal, a lightning crystal at the end, a water crystal to the left of that, and a wind crystal underneath the lightning crystal, this wand allows you to manipulate the weather! From clear skies to rainy days this wand is great for all types of weather.
The Fire Wand: Crafted, again, with two magic sticks on the diagonal but a fire stone at the end, this wand brings a whole new meaning to "scorched Earth." It sets a two by two area on fire and is a good substitute until you can get your hands on a fire sword.
The Water Wand: Crafted with two magic sticks on the diagonal and a water stone at the end, this wand creates a water source block. It's essentially a water bucket without all of that "bucket" nonsense.
The Earth Wand: probably the easiest to Craft with two magic sticks on the diagonal and a piece of cobblestone at the end, this wand summons huge boulders from the middle of the Earth for you to command. Or if you want the less intense iteration of that statement, it makes a two by two by two cube of cobblestone and I've personally found it useful for making walls and such.
The Ice Wand: crafted with two magic sticks on the diagonal and a block of ice at the top (requires silk touch to acquire) it basically makes a two by two square of ice wherever you click it...that's about it...meh not one of my more creative ideas BUT MOVING ON!
The Health Wand: crafted with two magic sticks on the diagonal and one bloodstone at the end, someone call the captain planet crew because I just found a use for the Heart Power! (again, I apologize for my bad jokes) It essentially takes whatever damage you've taken, in half hearts, and replenishes that at the expense of durability. It could heal you completely 3 times but once the durability is gone you're down to your last life.
The Falling Wand: crafted with two magic sticks and gravel at the end, this is probably one of my most genius ideas ever and if for no other reason than what I'm about to tell you, you should download this mod. It works off of a very simple premise, if there is gravel or sand directly in front of you it replaces all of it above the block you right clicked,up to five blocks with smooth stone. So it's an essential on every mining expedition unless you're some kind of person who likes gravel or sand falling on whatever you're doing...weirdo.
The Mining Wand: mines out a 3x3x5 area but costs a magic miner at the tip, a diamond in the middle, and a magic stick on the back.

Additional Content?
If you have any ideas that you think might go well with the overall theme of this mod then go ahead and leave them in the comments and maybe if you're lucky I'll put them in the next release which will be...well i don't actually know if there will be another release. Maybe I'll work on something else or maybe I'll keep amending this, it really all depends on if this is well received or not, but I guess we'll just have to see.

INSTALLATION GUIDE:

The installation process is very simple, all you need is Minecraft Forge (just do a Google search because, frankly, I don't think that I'm allowed to link you to the forge site. But trust me it's really easy to find, I mean, if I could do it then i guess a "special" monkey with half a brain could do it.) and then once you have that properly installed, click the link at the top of the page and download that fileand that should get you the magic wand mod.rar file. From there just drag that into your mods folder in your .minecraft folder and extract it to that location. Finally move the .rar file out of the mods folder so all you have left is the folder you extracted and you should be good to go. Happy minecrafting!

**NOTE** upon further investigation I realized that when you first run the mod it gives you an error along the lines of "Forge item 1808 is missing do you wish to launch anyway?" Just hit yes because 1808 is a WIP at the moment and I didn't have time to delete it. It's nothing to worry about

3 Update Logs

Update #3 : by Pieking9000 06/08/2014 11:30:46 amJun 8th, 2014

Sorry that I haven't updated this in over a week but it was my schools prom and prom weekend so I was a little preoccupied plus studying for finals and such, but I managed to fix a few small bugs and clean up my code a bit from the disgusting mess that it was. I can't remember everything I fixed off of the top of my head but one of the things that I do remember is that the firestone, waterstone, and bloodstone swords all have durability now, since they hadn't prior to this update. Anyway, thank you for all of your support and expect more updates from me more frequently now.
