It is recommend to stay on/in the first Bowl and explore it first.
(You can explore the 2nd and 3rd Bowls yes, but it is also recommend to mine there later.)
The Silverfish Hord is in the 2nd and 3rd Bowl. Watch out.
You have some Potions when you start the game, don't use them yet. Later they will be very useful.
You have some bones, you can use them at the beginning to tame some wolves :)
It is also good to light up the surface on first bowl, a lot of mobs will spawn, even during daytime.

A Guardian Temple spawns very close by ABOVE sealevel.
In my thinking this makes the map even more awesome, as you now have a boss battle to prepare form after conqueuring the bowls themselves!
You may like to look at my skyblock base, the idea for which that came about from seeing your 'bowls'...
