Custom craftings
Hello, these last few days Ive been looking a lot into custom crafting. The problem I have, and I dont know how to solve or if it can be solved, is that Im trying to craft a custom item using custom items. For example (though this is not the case), I want to craft a Looting IV sword, and for that, I want the recipe to require a Looting IV stick that drops from a ghast, for instance. However, I dont know how to create such recipes that involve an item with special NBT. If anyone knows if this is at least possible, I would really appreciate it. By the way, Im on version 1.21.

Unfortunately this isn't possible with the current custom crafting recipes in data packs, items with components have only just been supported for the output.
The only way to do this would be to make your own custom crafting table, but that's quite a lot of effort, especially if only for one item. I would say unless you're experienced with commands or really need to do it this specific way, you're probably better off coming up with an alternative way of "crafting" a custom item.

Hello, thank you very much for responding. In the end, after much thought, since the datapack I needed to make required many crafting recipes, I created a custom crafting table that can be crafted with normal items in the regular crafting table.
