The Edificio Vallecas 20 in Madrid is a social housing project completed in 2007 as part of the city’s urban renewal in the Vallecas neighborhood. Standing 62 meters tall with 22 floors, it is easily recognizable by its striking checkerboard façade of alternating windows and colorful panels. The design maximizes natural light and ventilation for the apartments while providing a distinctive identity within the district’s skyline. Today, it remains one of the most notable contemporary residential buildings in Madrid’s social housing program.
