I wanted to create a device which could go behind any portal shape/size and automate it with only the two dispensers showing. This is the result.

If you want to automate the smallest portal I would recommend going for this design: www.youtube.com/watch?v=xbyuB--Lnog
Its smaller but shows a piston and redstone block if you put it behind a larger portal.

if you made it sir a redstone god (if its without command blocks its ok if you use couple its really hard big portals [use hook pistons i think it will help :) ])

Alright I'll give it a go. I'll start off with a 3x3 portal with a 5x5 frame and see if its possible. I imagine its the double piston extenders which will cause the most problems
