This is a 4000x4000 terrain map that I made using worldmachine and worldpainter. I was originally saving this map for a personal project, however I decided to release it free of charge as I want to make a larger one once 1.18 comes out. Use this map for your own projects and build an epic kingdom here!

Timelapse of me making it here:

My New Minecraft Medieval Kingdom Map Part 1: World Machine and World Painter Timelapse / Cinematic - YouTube

Features:
  • 4000x4000 size
  • Large flat grassy area in the middle, which is perfect for farmlands or cities
  • The tree roots are properly sunk into the ground so there are no floating trees
  • Thousands of blocks worth of rivers, streams, and lakes
  • Ocean and beaches fully surround the map so there are no ugly cutoffs
  • Forests that have various densities of trees, so you can pick the area you like the best (or remove trees you dont want with worldedit)

Map Usage:
  1. Please do not use this map or anything from it for public servers, and especially servers that earn a profit.
  2. You may use this map for your own PMC projects or projects posted on other sites, as long as you add something new and unique to the map (so dont just repost it).
  3. You may use this map for videos/other forms of media.
  4. If you use this map in any way, please credit me (snowcoal), and provide the download link.

Custom Trees:

The trees used in this map were either from the following pack, or made by me, and can be found here:

I will just clear the island of plant life and replant trees with dynamic trees using the blue rinse

It is somewhat survival friendly. Leaves from trees will not despawn when the logs are broken, and caves do not spawn at all. However, ores spawn normally. Also, Im not sure about the overworld outside of the map. It might be superflat water, or it might be normal vanilla terrain. Finally, there are no illegal blocks such as barriers or command blocks located in the map. So its up to you.

This looks pretty good! But if I may, I'd offer some advice when dealing with perlin noise. It looks like you used one advanced perlin and then carved out the flat space in the middle; you might consider using a layout generator as a mask input for the advanced perlin to shape the mountains in a specific way. Natural mountains are like lines or chains, not mountains everywhere like in your map. By using the mask tool you can use lines or circles and then use the breakup feature to make them seem more natural!

Hope that helps!

Thanks for the advice! Actually the method I used is similar to what you said. The reason why the flat area looks so "flat" is because originally I was going to build a large city there and I wanted a giant large flat area with a river crossing it. I also smoothed it with worldpainter to make it even more flat than it was originally. In retrospect this part of the process was definitely inefficient because of the river, and I shouldve just made the river with worldpainter. Heres the video of me making it:
