It's been quite a while since I lasted posted on PMC. Since then, I've done some more work on Chinatown, Manhattan. This time around, I have made 51 Mott Street. 51 Mott Street is a red brick tenement that was built in 1915 and has 5 stories and 5 units. It's located on Mott Street, which is a historically prominent street in the Chinatown neighborhood of Manhattan. (Fun Fact: Mott Street, like other Manhattan Streets that predate the grid, were built around natural features rather than through them). A teahouse named "Teariffic Cafe" (an amazing pun I know) used to be located on the first floor, but it has since closed. The building isn't unique to Chinatown as there are many buildings with similar features. Later this week, I will be posting some of Chinatown's more unique architectural gems.
