All hail Caffeina, goddess of coffee, giver of life!
Temple Compound Overview
At the gateway of the compound are two chests: one contains the Book of Caffeina, while the other gives my construction materials and methods. Once through the palisade, there's a casual path of "coffee beans" and "sugar cubes" leading around the compound. Cross the bridge over the Stream of Caffeina's Tears, and you're at the heart of the compound, nestled amidst the Espresso Hills.
The temple itself is called the Triune Temple, for there are three separate buildings. On the left is the Nectar Chapel, which serves all types of coffee and pastries. In the center is the "drip brewer" House of Worship, complete with burner, carafe, filter basket, and giant electrical plug. On the right is the Brunch Chapel, reserved for the weekly feasts in Caffeina's name. Patrons may dine inside or, weather permitting, outside on the al fresco patio.
The grounds of the compound are populated with coffee trees, Sugar Mountain, sugar cane bogs, the Bountiful Gardens, the livestock pens, the subterranean river of caramel, the "coffee service" sculptures, and much more.
Construction
I used WorldEdit to generate large shapes (//faces, //pyramid, //hcyl, //hsphere), to set large areas of mixed blocks (//sel poly and //set), and to replicate designs that are repeated (//stack). Other than that, everything in the compound is hand-built. All trees were planted, matured with bone meal, and seeded with cocoa beans to represent coffee trees. All the detailing, staircases, bridges, stream, sculptures, furnishings, plug, and such were individually placed. (Details on materials are in the history book in the righthand chest at the gate.)
Lore
Caffeina saw that the world lacked coffee trees, and darkness tainted the minds of Her people. Over the course of one week, She created the coffee groves, sugar cane bogs and Sugar Mountain, and the stream of Her tears (which are cream), and instructed Her people on the appropriate methods of preparing the bitter beans. During the second week, Caffeina decided that more was needed, so she populated the world with plants and animals from which to create a feast in Her honor, which She named Brunch. (Details on the lore are in the Book of Caffeina in the lefthand chest at the gate.)
Notes
This is my first contest entry, so please let me know in the comments if I've missed anything crucial, and I'll add/correct it. Also, I'd love constructive criticism from experienced builders. Thanks!
