Hi, this is my first time posting anything that I have created. I love redstone and do not build fancy buildings. I love experimenting with machines and love to figure out a problem.
The images shows the top half of the redstone that helps to generate the cobble. The bottom half that controls the cobblestone blocks. The last picture shows the redstone filter system used to separate the resources gathered. There are 4 corners filled with water, which fill the space that the lava occupies. When the lever is flicked on, the piston holding the lava back deactivates, letting the lava loose. As the lava slowly descends, the pistons holding the cobblestone activates. The 8 pieces of cobblestone prevent the water from touching the falling lava. As the pistons let the water in, the lava on the outside turns to cobble or resources, which are mined and collected in hoppers that lead to the two chests. These chests separate the cobble from the mined resources.
