This something I've been working on. It's an Arab inspired palace on a magic carpet. You can use it as a regular building or place it in the air, but it's 64 blocks tall, so if you want it to be floating the ground needs to be bellow sea level. The interior has been left open for you to fill it however you like.
I have plans of making a desert map for it and releasing that as a map later.

Updated the schematic and took an image in Overviewer. Also placed this on my map project.

The best advise I can give you is to try and do something different every time you use MCEdit. After a while you develop a tool belt of techniques to use :)

Nope, I do what I like to call procedural design, where I make changes in a step-wise fashion. Creating apparent complexity from simple steps.
