It a showcase of an automatic sand generator I put together after seeing a manual one of Statics channel I believe it was. Just flip the lever and enjoy never having to go digging in the desert again.

You can do the same thing with gravel right? Orr you could change half of the sand to gravel and get both at the same time? RIGHT?

No, once its built, it will work until the minecraftian Ragnarok prophesied by Herobrine. (But seriously, no, the sand blocks never leave their place, meaning that it will work forever. When lever is on that is)
