Beep Bip was a passion project of mine that began around a 2 years ago. I started because I watched a Trackmania event called Deep Dip 2 (there was a Deep Dip 1, but it's not relevant to the story). The track on Deep Dip 2 was a 16-floor tower track designed with many extremely difficult jumps and tricks that allowed only the best Trackmania players to make it through the finish. The excitement and buzz surrounding the event reeled me in, and I was soon tuning in to livestreams of the best players to see who would finish the map first. After the event ended, I was inspired to imitate Deep Dip 2 and make something of my own. In short, I wanted to make something similar, but through Minecraft parkour.
Of course, I originally had no idea what I was doing, really. I had never made any type of Minecraft map before, and the closest thing I had made to parkour in the past was a short rainbow parkour course I made on my mom's phone way back. However, I soon found myself enjoying the process and making relatively quick progress on the lowest floors. After reaching the end of floor 12, however, I was burnt out. I tried coming up with ideas for the next floor, but nothing stuck. I decided that the best thing to do was to take a break and see what would happen afterwords. To be honest, I fully thought that Beep Bip was going to be another abandoned project lost in the world files of my iPhone 7.
However, after taking a 3 month break, I remembered the project again and gave it another shot. My break definitely helped, as I went on to finish the last 4 floors without too much mental resistance. After I had finished everything, I showed it to a few close friends and family members, and then mostly forgot about it. I was very proud of the finished parkour map for sure, but I never thought it would be possible to upload it.
Now, with the help of a laptop, I'm uploading it onto Planet Minecraft. Since I finished the first draft of the map around a year and a half ago, I've made some occasional changes to the course, altering some of the parkour, decoration, and floor names---cleaning up overall. I started the world before the ability to change the layout of superflat worlds was implemented, though, so I was unfortunately stuck with a grass plateau to sculpt upon. Regardless, I also implemented lore throughout the course to add some garnish to the map. I never kept any kind of record, but I roughly estimate I've put in ~70 hours into this map in total, including the building and playtesting.
Although I don't expect this post to get a whole lot of traction, I hope at least one to a few people enjoy what I've made. Have fun!
