Hi,

here's a new and reallly big project: I am going to terraform a whole (or at least a big part of :P) Minecraft world.
I use the normal generated terrain, but I improve it by hand to make it look amazing. Also I am going to put villages, cities, castles, roads etc. in it, to create a really big, awesome looking and (kinda) realistic kingdom.

For landscaping I am orientating on a youtuber called GoodTimesWithScar, and try to imitate his sytle because I absolutly love his style of terra-forming.

For building etc I am holding on to this guidelines, to make it realistic and good looking ( but I will put some steampunk/fantasy in it, so it's not a replica, and I am going to mix the ages, so I am not building excactly the year xxxx, but combine all styles from the 1000s-1700s (ca.))

Building a realistic medieval world

note: some parts are just copied in from other maps (not visible in the screens, and will later prbably be removed)
e.g. the church, a part of a village, and parts of a mountain, but you can just see them at the border of the pictures

How did you do the fields?

/gamerule randomTickspeed 0

/br s farmland 6

/mask 2

make the field as you want

then build the outlines with the crops, then stand inside the (empty) field (outlines, because with fill you get some floating crops, maybe you can get rid of these somehow, then you can skip this??

//fill (crop-ID) 50 (or higher for really large fields)

you need to do this on every layer, since I build on different levels

then I make another brush for the outlines, make the transission

/br s 70%farmland,30%2 6

/mask farmland

then just make the transision

at the end, just /gamerule randomTickspeed 1000, let it grow and set back to 3

there may be a faster/easier way, but that's how I do them ;)

That's pretty cool; I might just try that for one of my maps! The terraforming on this map is amazing, and I wish you good luck on your project!
