The B17 was the most widely used U.S. bomber in WWII.THe B17 was mainly used for heavy daylight bombing.Its heavy armor and constant bombing made this one of the most iconic bombers ever. It could drop more bombes than any other bomber in the U.S. All of these aspects make it probably the most successful bomber in WWII.

This means a lot to me. My Grandfather's brother was a tail-gunner in a B-17 F and his plane was shot down during WWII. So I never met him.
