This bridge is made of sand maintained by pistons that can be deactivated by walking on the pressure plate. Not deadly enough? If you step on the pressure plate you activate a TNT block forcing the player to jump off the bridge.
Using lava under the bridge is an efficient way to avoid survival of the victim in SMP.
