Iveco OTO Melara C2 Ariete

The C2 Ariete is the latest modification of the Ariete family, being the most advanced of the series; it introduces a new sights for both the gunner and commander, the Attila-D commander’s panoramic sight and Lothar-SD gunner’s sight with Third Generation thermals.

It is fitted with the reliable Leonardo 120 L/44 smoothbore gun, but it is planned to receive the new L/55 version of the gun with the ability to carry the VULCANO guided munition. It also has a brand new engine; the IVECO V-12 turbocharged intercooled 12-cylinder diesel, boosting the mobility of the tank and increasing it's horsepower to 1500HP.

It also receives a bran new coaxial 12.7mm browning machine gun on top instead of the MG43 machine guns, but the MG43 remains built in the turret next to the main gun.
