First I want to start with an announcement. As some of you might already know, I have left the sunshine cruise line server on wich I have been working on for a couple of years. I won't share publicly why I left but. Before I left I had an agreement with the owner; to prevent people stealing my unposted projects, all of them were to be deleted so no one except me is able to finish it. Posted stuff like the SS Rotterdam are still on the SCL server but wont be finished there, so you can still see them there except with no progress on it.

With that news out I want to talk about the ship this project is made for: the DSMS Klipfontein.

The Passenger/Cargo liner Klipfontein was an Holland Africa Liner build by Smit P Jr. in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
The ship was completed in march 1939, just before the invasion of the Netherlands wich happend in may. She was put to service under the name USAT Klipfontein for the United States. After the war she returned to passenger service untill january 1953 when she hit a sunken U-boat off the coast of Mozambique where she sank. All onboard were saved by the Bloemfontein Castle.

The reason I decided to build this ship was because I found and bought a General Arrangement plan for the ship with a profile and her passenger decks allowing me to accurately build the ship (all of her passenger decks atleast, the tank top will be made mostly custom.
