It sure is sad that the caboose as a whole was retired in the 1980s, they were such a great piece of Railroad History and Legend!

I have seen on very rare occasion videos of them still coupled to a highly special freight loads? Like ultra heavy flatcar loads, or military/ nuclear stuff?

Yea they still use them for oddball stuff like that but gone are the glory days of them behind every mainline freight train
