Site C-Theta-45; A small out-of-the-way quarantine area in the forests of Isla Muerta for InGen's Project Chaos hybrid-development program. C-Theta-45 in particular was used to handle a lone female Compstegnathus specimen, the sole survivor after a previous breakout by another hybrid resulted in the (then) functional extinction of the species. The survivor was transferred to this pen for containment and observation.
However, due to financial hardships faced by the company, Site C-Theta-45 was critically understaffed, and monitoring the animal's condition became dodgy even in such a small space. As a result, there were certain things missed or overlooked. For instance, that Compstegnathus was capable of parthenogenic reproduction. Or that due to the amount of food delivered with the expectation of one animal, there was hardly enough for both the mother and her secret brood. Or the tunnel that she turned to digging to in an effort to breach the paddock.
None of the five researchers on-site saw it coming. There were very few remains; the family had been very hungry indeed. By the time InGen security arrived, they were already long gone.
Winning entry for a hybrid-themed build contest hosted by Everything Jurassic Park. Built in 1.18.2 over a period of two weeks. It's the first time I've tried to build anything for a contest, and I'm quite happy with how it turned out. Compstegnathus is a creature from Kenner's Jurassic Park: Chaos Effect toyline, and more info on the animal can be found on the toy packaging.
The world itself is very cool, and I've included the seed for it in this post. Originally found here.
