To install unzip the file and put in .minecraft's "saves" folder. (windows only I have no idea about any other operating system).
And (I recommend) after playing on 1.2.4 downgrade to 1.7.3 and install Aether mod, there's a portal on the roof that
has a GREAT spawn area (when in the Aether)!
P.S. The seed spawns in a snow biome about 6 or 7 blocks away from the actual area (and I cleared out some trees when building).
P.P.S. In the "Mines" area in the map there is a huge empty square, a creeper made that.
