Based on the standard Starfleet design tree and hull components of the time, the Federation-class starships were bulkier sisters of the Constitution-class heavy cruisers. The dreadnoughts employed a different sensor/navigational deflector / tractor beam dish arrangement (including an aft sensor dish) and most prominently, a third nacelle

this is my attempt at a star trek dreadnought. It will be a more refitted design, with linear warp nacelles instead of the cylindrical style.

finals week. yay... i will start working on this on the 21st.

i have finished the groundwork for the ship but i may need to start over using actual plans for the ship. as of now i am using the enterprise-A design (thank you Mozzie)

homework has been a nightmare, so i didn't get any time to do this recently. i do have a binvox shell though. I'll post some pics of that soon.

Just dabble on it from time to time. I'm working alot of overtime right now and don't have alot of time to mess around either, but a little here and there and eventually you'll have something nice to show for your work. If you want I grabbed a SketchUp model of the Fed-Class ship. I can make you a binvox to schematic shell version that you can either use as your base structure or use for comparison if you want to hand build the whole thing.
